Hi: Someone else may correct me if I'm wrong here certainly be my guest; however, for what it's worth here is my opinion. Possibly a part of Jaws is somehow engulfed within windows, possibly the registry. I don't know about Jaws but I know for Microsoft products there is a program called WICU (windows installer Cleanup utility) which gets rid of the program bits and pieces in the registry after an uninstall. Failing that you may have to manually get rid of any bits of Jaws lying around. Again don't take what I have written as correct someone may correct mne. A couple of weeks ago, it became impossible for me to use certain pages with JAWS 7.0. I was told that the page would load, but I was unable to read any of the text or navigate through the links. I downloaded 7.1 and can get on pages such as amazon.com now, but I like the way that 7.0 read with ctrl+down arrow, and 7.1 or 8.0 don't read the same way. I've tried running a repair on 7.0, but that didn't work to get me back on amazon.com. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but that didn't help, either. When I reinstalled, I was a little surprised to find out that I didn't have to put in my authorization code and was thinking that maybe not all of the program got removed, hence I'm running into the same problem using amazon.com because of that. Can someone please tell me how I can do a complete uninstall and reinstall of JAWS 7.0, as if starting over from scratch, in hopes that this might solve the problem with accessing amazon.com and some other pages? Thank you. -- JFW related links: JFW homepage: http://www.freedomscientific.com/ Scripting mailing list: http://lists.the-jdh.com/listinfo.cgi/scriptography-the-jdh.com JFW List instructions: To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
