Check Disk, did not replace Scan disk. Check Disk has been a program built into all Microsoft operating systems since the first release of MS-DOS. As for Scan Disk, many of its functions have been integrated as an integral part of Windows XP, That is why it is not included as a program in Windows XP nome and professional.
