Yes, it is still part of Norton System Works. And, I agree in theory that Peter Norton had superior products; although it is purely speculative as to whether the path of development would've continued.

A program that was infinitely superior than Check disk or Scan Disk
was ever or, could ever be, was Norton Disk Doctor.

That program could find and fixed problems that neither Check disk nor
Scan Disk could find.

In Norton System Tools, Is Disk doctor Still included and, if it is,
is it still reasonably accessible with JAWS?

Personally speaking, I do not think that the Norton Utilities have
been as good since Symantech bought Peter Norton out.

can run this okay, but, can't read results. Only runs on restart because
windows needs exclusive access to some files. Does anyone know where the log
is if any?

I remember chkdsk fondly. I think "error checking" in XP replaced scan
disk. To access it, enter
"my computer", hit alt enter on the hard drive to be checked, control
tab once to tools where you will find error checking. After you enter on
that, there are two automatic fix options. If you check those, it will
take longer.

Check Disk, did not replace Scan disk.

Check Disk has been a program built into all Microsoft operating
systems since the first release of MS-DOS.

As for Scan Disk, many of its functions have been integrated as an
integral part of Windows XP, That is why it is not included as a
program in Windows XP nome and professional.

Do any of you run "check disk" which replaces "scan disk" in Windows

Does JAWS handle this OKAY?
Is there anything that I should be aware of before I attempt this?
