Ted,

Sorry. After I posted that comment, intending to get a laugh, I thought
back to what I can remember since the last time I saw maps regularly, and
I'm afraid the other two countries I named aren't closer to us than the
Czech Republic and Slovakia are. I think that area's closer to Western
Europe than the others, adjacent to it, in fact. Otherwise, hey, Hitler
would have marched into Bulgaria to start his offensive, if it were just
across the border. So I got it a little backward, making a lousy joke. Oh,
well.

Hi Ted,

I wasn't taking into account that someone might not have their computer on
regularly at the time the update is set for. So I have to also admit that
I've never been hit with the reminder, because it's rare that my computer
isn't on around 9 AM, when this update happens, or that I'm more than a day
behind.

As far as download time goes, my experience is really different from yours,
and I'm just using a very low-speed DSL connection, not an expensive levelof
service. But the download update happens in a flash for me, just a few
seconds, and that's much, much quicker than it used to in the last version
of the program, which took a bit longer. So maybe the server has moved from
where you said (actually, there isn't a Czechoslovakia anymore) to some
place a little closer, like Rumania or Bulgaria. Who knows. :-)

No, not at all.

Yardbird is correct about the automatic once per day updates, but I
often forget about that as I'm not always on, and it will remind you,
when it thinks it's been long enough.

That brings up one additional point. If you're on dial up, downloads
can be sinfully slow. The one saving grace is they're usually fairly
small. I'll swear I got better speed from my old 14.4 modem with 4-1
compression. I think the server is in Czechoslovakia, and it must have
to bounce around the world a time or two. It is S--L--O--O--W!

Ted

When I bought my new Del a few months ago, I received a AVG disc with
it. I
never installed it, however. Is this system difficult to install?
