Hi,I would say that it is doable. There are programs that allow you to compileyour C++ code that are accessible with JAWS. Personally, as a computer science student, I find that learning with books and examples would be the best idea. My personal recommendation is C++: A Dialogue by Steve Heler. As for programming tools, you can use notepad to create your code, then a text-based compiler such as Borland can be used(effectively with JAWS). I am still learning C++ myself, so I don't know toomuch about the language. However, there is a list called Blind Programming where you can ask questions of this kind and hopefully meet blind programmers out there who can assist you better. Hope this helps. I was wondering if there are others here who learned C programming and how doable it is as a blind person. My philosophy has always been that everything, or nearly everything, is doable as a blind person but I'd like to hear from programming veterans, if such there are. --Bill ---- "Do one thing for me, Sredni Vashtar!" -- JFW related links: JFW homepage: http://www.freedomscientific.com/ Scripting mailing list: http://lists.the-jdh.com/listinfo.cgi/scriptography-the-jdh.com JFW List instructions: To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
