Farfar:

The thing that really annoys me is these programmers arrogance in determining
that there program must be included in the start up process, when it is
obviously not necessary that they do so.

Obviously, there are some programs such as adaptive technology software that
need to be included, so we know when the system is at the computer desktop.
And there are other programs that must be included in the start up process,
otherwise they cannot perform functions, routines and checks that need to be
performed during the start process.

Sincerely:

Dave Durber

  Dave,

Yes, you are correct. And when I have collected a number of unchecked items
over a period of time, I go to the Registry and delete the keys there. So I was
being somewhat metaphorical and misleading.

    Farfar:

You cannot delete items in the MSConfig program, you can only check or
uncheck an item.

      Two places:

      1. Windows+r, then type in MSConfig and press enter.
      Ctrl+Tab to the startup page.
List contains "stuff" that loads automatically when you start Windows.
      Delete with care.

      2. Start/Programs/Startup
      arrow to undesired application.
App key or shift+f10 for context menu
Select Delete anything there you don't want starting

      Repeat until satisfied.

Hi folks. Got a question about the programs that load at start-up. Is
there a way jaws users can find what programs are loading at start-up and
disable them. Several programs are starting that I don't need, when my
computer boots up. Thanks for the help.
