Hello.

Remember freedom scientific has the whole month of October to release the
next public beta. I suspect what they will do is release another public
beta somewhere around the first of October maybe even the second week of
October and then release the final release on November 1.

But Jonathan claimed that FS is right on schedule to release the final
public version of JAWS 10 on November 1, which does not leave them much time
between now and then to release another beta version. So unless FS is
planning to delay the public roll out of JAWS 10, I'm skeptical that they
will release a third beta version. Top management is probably under pressure
to go live with the public version of JAWS 10 on time, even if it still
contains bugs. After all, they still have not fixed bugs that have existed
since earlier versions of JAWS.

No, there is most likely another beta release, according to Eric, in
October.

Or maybe they'll just save up all the bugs so that they have an excuse to
roll out JAWS 11. Beta 2 is probably the last beta version of JAWS 10
before it is released to the general public, tentatively scheduled for
November 1.

They were probably concentrating more on jaws tandum and itunes support for
this particular release. maybe they'll hammer out some of the bugs for beta
3 or rc 1. what ever it will be called. At 07:24 PM 9/25/2008, you wrote:

The 2 bugs I reported in Beta 1 don't seem to be fixed in Beta 2. I still
can't use the Individual Voice Adjustment dialog to set punctuation for the

The JAWS Dictionary still doesn't list all of the speech synthesizers that
JAWS supports. The result is that if I use one of the unlisted
synthesizers, such as DECtalk Access32, the exceptions I entered are not
spoken. This is true even when I leave the selection on All Synthesizers.

Very disappointing! I like the addition of the Tandem feature, but I do
wish they would fix the features they broke. I read through the list of
fixes, and it seemed rather small.
