If you can afford it, get JAWS. Connect Out Loud is meant for web

Hi,
Is there a basic screen reader that I can use, with a new computer?
It's for my son, so I don't know that I need either a full-fledged version
of JFW or Window Eyes.
Will Connect Out Loud serve this purpose?
I am asking this because I was not able to install any screen reading
software on this new machine yet, and we're currently using Narrator, to
help him navigate.
The computer has Windows Vista Home!
