Your wife could write you a note with a qwerty style note taker and you
could then read it from the note taker. They costs around 3,000-4,000.
Tape recorders work. So do answering machines.

Hi Jim, if I understand you correctly you are looking for a way for your
wife to create a printed braille letter (or short memo) to you without
having to know any Braille. The good news is that this is entirely
possible. The bad news is that it often requires a second mortage. To
make the actual output on paper will require a Braille embosser. A used
Braille blazer will probably be cheapest. Now to write the letter there
a few choices. Your wife could write it on the computer and translate it
to Braille using something like the software from Duxbury Systems. Or if
she doesn't like computers you can always get her one of those note
takers that have a QWERTY keyboard and emboss directly from there. These
suggestions will both work but it is a pretty exspensive proposition
just to leave you a note to put the roast in the oven at 5PM. You could
always try puttingon the sad puppy dog eyes and saying "honey if you
really loved me you would learn some Braille"; but don't sue me if y ou
end up on the couch for a few weeks. Frank

.Good morning Chris,
.Jim here,
.First of all, thanks for the link on CDEX. all worked perfectly. I
posted
.what I am going to ask you to the blindtech list, but I thought I might
get
.a better answer from you. Sometimes that list gets pretty snippy with
you if
.you think the question is dumb. Anyway here it is. Is there a product
with a
.qwerty keyboard that you can use to write Braille with? My wife is
sighted
.and doesn't know Braille. If she wanted to write me a note or
something, she
.could with something like that> So if there is such a product what is
it and
.approximate cost of it please.
.Thanks.
.Jim
