Not a good idea.

When you import a file that is in MP3 format, into a sound editor such as
Gold Wave, the file is converted to Wave format. The resulting Wave format
does not reproduce the sound to its original quality, that probably existed
before the MP3 file was created.

When you have performed the edits on the file and save the smaller files to
MP3 format, the newly created and saved files will sound poorer quality that
did the original MP3 file. This is because you are recompressing an audio
file that had already been compressed once before.

You cannot get a silk purse out of a sows ear.

Sincerely:

Dave durber
