Here's a message I posted some time ago. This method of downloading AFP overcomes all the problems described in this thread, which I also used to experience. Here goes: A friend passed this item along from the Accessible Devices List. I've had problems updating Adobe Flash Player, CCleaner and some other applications. The website identified in this post makes the process as simple as could be. The link below brings you to the AFP page. If it alerts you that your AFP isn't up to date, arrow down a few lines to the download link. Then you go through the usual Windows download process leading to the saving of a .exe file. Just click on that file and installation proceeds effortlessly. The updated AFP works with IE, firefox and other browsers. The website enables similarly streamlined downloads and installation of other programs. These can be found by clicking on a link near the top of this page and above the PDF download link. First the link, then an edited comment from the list where the information was posted. Accessible Devices List Posted Friday, November 12, 2010 9:06 AM http://updateflash.org When you visit the website, it informs you if your flash player is current. If not you need only download and run the provided install program. Just follow the simple directions. One of the great things is that you will not have to deal with the installer wanting to install a bunch of unwanted tool bars Etc. I've updated my player with this and found it to be the easiest flash player update I've ever done. No more searching all over a website trying to locate the latest version. _____ From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Bill White Sent: Thursday, January 06, 2011 9:09 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: I'm not seeing everything in the Windows Task Tray. I did that when I was trying to update. Problem is that the uninstaller doesn't have an unnamed button, only the I and Q buttons. Thank you. Hi Bill; Try the following the next time you need to update. 1. Set your Screen Echo to all. This is done using Jaws key + S. 2. When the Flash Player download screen comes up, 1 of the choices Jaws will say" button " only. No letters, just " button ." 3. Press spacebar / enter on this unnamed button. 4. Now, tab to the " I " button & press enter, & tab again to the " I " button & press enter. You might have to use your Insert/Jaws key + B, keystroke to hear everything but, having set your Screen Echo to all text, Jaws should read you something. This process has worked for me in the past but, it has been awhile since I've done it. Hope this helps. Take care. Problem is: When I run the uninstaller, all I see is an I button and a Q button. Once I press the I button nothing happens, no matter how long I wait. If I press the only remaining button, the Q button, it aborts. No matter what I do, it won't uninstall. Thank you. Bill White billwhite92701@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----- Original Message ----- From: G.W. From an old message: After too much of a hassle, I found out that the latest version of flash player does not install over a previous version.
