Eileen La Fond, yes,you need to activate the copy of your Windows.  Just click 
the help balloon and follow what did tells you to do.

  This morning when I logged on there was a request window for me to run
  the activation for JAWS.  I went to exit.  When I started working JAWS
  was all messed up so I closed the version 7 and opened the version 6 and
  I got the same activation request.  I exited again and version 6 seems
  to be working okay.  Does anyone know why all of a sudden I am getting
  this request and should I go ahead and do the activation?
