The biggest problem with Speakeasy.net is that they are gradually making their
site more and more graphical in design and therefore making their site less
accessible to those of us who use access technology.

  Hi All,

A sidebar to the speedtest.net Internet speed testing site. The technician
that was here at the house yesterday told me that he preferred to use
www.speakeasy.net over www.speedtest.net because the speed test.net site
consistently shows slower speed tests than other speed test sites. He showed
me the comparisons and the download speed was faster on the speak easy.net site
by around 4 meg but, that was yesterday. Today I ran a test and the speed
tests were pretty close. The upload tests were virtually the same. He also
told me that speed test.net tests were slower because the testing areas used
were much broader than other testing sites. Now, having said all of this, this
is only 1 technicians opinion. Just thought I would share what was said. Take
care.
  Mike

  Hi,
I just tried a simple speed test with this site with flash enabled and it
works great. I'll have to keep that address for future reference.

    Hi Dave,

The speed test site we were talking about is below.

    www.speedtest.net

Remember you will need your flash player turned on to use the site. Take
care.

Interesting comment about the accessibility on which you performed the
speed test. However, I do not recall seeing the URL address for the speed test
site. Please provide the list with the URL address.

    Sincerely:

    Dave Durber

You'll have to press enter on begin test button. Then you'll be able to
get the results of the test you've just had. I hope that this helps. I'm
legally blind myself and i've just completed the test. Things are a little
different but it works. The only thing is that you can change settings that
you need to. You should have no problems with the test. I hope that this
helps.

        Hi All,

Would someone please provide the list with 1 or more Internet speed
test sites that are totally accessible to Jaws users. Both the sites that were
provided to us by our Internet provider are only accessible to the sighted. A
totally blind person needs sighted asisstance. The 2 speed test sites that our
provider gave us are below in case someone knows how to access these sites and
would be so kind as to explain how they do it.

        www.speedtest.net

        www.speakeasy.net

All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much. Take care.
        Mike
