Hi! I'm not familiar with Acer, but from what you describe I would think so. Give it a try. If you have Windows 7, just press the Windows key and type the word energy. Then click on Energy Options, should be the first hit, and then click on Extended Options. Next to the Extended tab is a tab for VAIO energy management.
