AW: Error 6, JAWS loses authorization

Hi! Error 6 is not a message from the system or some other software, it's a
JAWS message. By Googling I found out that other JAWS users have also
experienced Problems with Windows 7. I could not find any directions on solving
the matter though. I replaced the JAWS.fsrac, but without success. Any other
suggestions?

Luis,
If JAWS 12 will not resolve your issue then I recommend you purchase the
dongle. It is cheaper than an upgrade of JAWS if your SMA has expired.

I have received this same problem on my laptop. The error is 106 not 6.
Before when it would happen I would just reauthorize my key but this time it
says I( have to contact FS. This has been the 4th. Time this month it has
pulled an error 106 and authorization has had to be renewed. This time it
didn't work via internet and now Monday I'll be on the phone on hold again
for an indeterminate period of time. I'm using the latest release of JAWS 11
& windows 7 32 bit on an Aser laptop.

Robbie,
I don't recall seeing an "error 6" when using JAWS, so I suspect that this
is an error being thrown by your VAIO hardware.
Since you report that it used to only happen on battery, and now happens
when connected to ac power, I'm suspecting it's related to your battery
charging "smart electronics".
Operate your VAIO with the battery completely removed on ac power only and
see if the problem goes away.
If it hopefully does then it may be time to replace your battery. This might
be the source of your Error 6, being related to the battery's internal smart
electronics. It may be doing some sort of reset that fools JAWS into
thinking that the locking code has changed.
Just a guess, so give it a try if you haven't already.
If you have tried this with no success, then you may want to start looking
through all your VAIO online documentation for a clue as to what Error 6 is.

Hi Chris!
I'm using the latest build of JAWS 11, but I've been having this problem
since JAWS 10. Only in the beginning, as I said, it would only occur when
running on battary power. I've had JAWS 11 for quite some time now, without
experiencing this problem when plugged in. I had not installed anything new
when it first happened several days ago. I can't do a system restore,
because the earliest restauration point is after the date at which this
problem first occurred. Any advice is most welcome.
