John This isn't necessarily true. My brother is using Norton AV 2003 on his XP home box. He manually checks for updates every other day in addition to the automatic updates and he has still had 3 bad virus infections. I have JFW on that machine and have never had a problem using norton AV. However, I have seen a computer running NSW get slowed down badly by the product. After NSW was UnInstalled it ran much faster. I on the other hand have been using AVG for around 2 years with JFW and have never had an infection. I guess it all depends on what you do with your computer. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Miller" <n1umj@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, December 30, 2004 4:22 AM Subject: Re: AVG Anti Virus > you obviously weren't keeping Norton up to date then because I've never had > an infection with Norton and can honestly say, if you want to put your faith > in a product that's free where they can turn around and stop tech support > any time they want, and in the antivirus world where you generally get what > you pay for, it's your choice but I'm staying with what I know works with > jaws, and more importantly, what I know will keep my computer safe. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Kerri" <ruby75@xxxxxxxxx> > To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Thursday, December 30, 2004 12:16 AM > Subject: Re: AVG Anti Virus > > > > Hello!
