RE: AVG 8.5

Gerald, oddly enough I run the paid version of AVG 8 on my three servers
and I haven't received anynotices about upgrading to a newer version.
However all of my clients that run the free version gave me the notice
to upgrade to AVG 8.5.

I assume you are talking about the free version of AVG 7.5. I'm running
the paid version of 7.5, and have not received any notices that it would
no longer be supported after April 12.

She said that she had version 7.5. That's why it wants her to
upgrade to version 8. I've seen that same message on a few other
computers with version 7.5 which said that that version would not be
supported after April 12 2009.

Are you sure you downloaded the free version of AVG 8.5 and not
the paid version? Maybe you keep getting those reminders because you
actually downloaded the paid version and its free trial period ends on
April 12. Just a guess on my part.

                Hi, Dave,

That's odd. I started getting reminders to upgrade
to 8.5 a week or so ago.

The scans don't run constantly, but it does seem to
take hem hours to finish. During those hours, JAWS is really sluggish
and quirky.

But I fixed something in the settings, so we'll see if
that helps.
