Don't know what goes on with AVG 8 on its scan. Version 7.5 used to take 23-25 minutes for a scan. Version 8 is taking 1 hour and 30 40 minutes. I turned off the automatic and do it manually now.

Hi All

I installed AVG 8 free yesterday.
This morning was the first time that AVG 8 scanned my computer at the time I 
selected.
For most of the morning my computer was slowed down and I could hear my hard 
drive of my laptop working - even when I was not doing anything at the
computer.

Not sure - could this be related to AVG.?  How long does the scan take?

With AVG 7.5 there was the daily automatic scan; my work was briefly
interrupted, but then I could carry on as before.
