RE: ATI Radeon 7000 Video card

Ok Gary, I've got a radeon 7500 on my work pc as well (running win2k)
(the one at home is actually an ATI mobility radeon 7500, guess a
low-power version).

I did what you asked and unchecked control type in my advanced verbosity
preferences in the default configuration.

I checked and indeed am no longer hearing the type of control as I land
on it.

But, in all other respects, it's still working fine.

Card is set at 16-bit (high color) at a resolution of 1280x1024.

I'm not doubting the problems, I just think it's not quite right to say
it's simply this brand of card; it's somehow more complex than that.

Do you have any sort of remote control software installed on the pcs
that are giving you trouble (that is, software that allows someone else
to use it remotely or to take control remotely to try and help you)? I
once tried installing such software and found it caused all kinds of
strange problems with jfw until I uninstalled it.

In my case it was something called remote workstation (I think) from
Novell.

Let me know if there are any other tests I can perform for you.

Chip
