Thanks Tom and the others who replied. I should have thought of this
resolution, but thought that AOL was supposed to work better than that.
Wow...what a non-standard interface!

You can just launch IE once aol is up. You have to keep aol up. IE
won't allow
you to configure in the normal fashion an internet connection. So now
we have a
non-existant virus that aol kindly reported to a user and a poor
interface.
Thank you aol indeed for encouraging co-dependency. </end of personal
rant>

Subject: AOL and IE

Dear AOL users-
How do uyou get to the good old internet from the AOL interface? I
just learned that Control-O does not bring up the open dialog and my
student could not locate an option to go straight to IE. An old ACB
mainstream demonstration stated that you can get out of the AOL
interface and get back to IE, but did not explain how to do so. I
have
a new internet student and don't 'appreciate' the non-standard
interface
and especially dislike that the standard hot keys won't work.

Thanks for any info.

Cher
