This didn't work. I got as far as saving the settings, with control s,
but
it didn't save. I got a"clunk" sound and the box didn't stay checked.
So,
when I start S A Mobile, JAWS still talks.

Hi Cindy,
The answer to your question is easy to do.
1. launch SA Mobile
2. press JAWS KEY 6, which is probably the caps lock key on your laptop
with
the 6 on the number row this will bring up the JAWS configuration manager.
3. press ALT S to bring up the set options pull down menu
4. arrow up until you hear "advanced" and press enter
5. You will hear sleep mode hit the space bar to check it and hit enter
6. press control s to save the settings
7. hit alt F4 to exit the configuration manager
that's all
