If you have a desktop, installing a new sound card is quite easy.  I can't 
promise that would fix the problem, but I've had good luck with the Sound 
Blaster series from Creative Labs.

I wish more people were familiar with the program you use so we could find 
out if there is a common problem or if they have a different setup that 
works.
