Dang, It seems that the lines were removed, but that the file is now larger? In that case, can you now copy the contents of the document and paste them into a new document? Or, can you do a Save As...? Word documents are saved in what looks like an xml tree, and it could just be that the data in it is retained for some reason even though it is deleted from view. Often saving a new file forces an application to re-write the header data and any other formatting, correcting errors that may be there.This could be applied in JAWS too, if there was a problem with a .jss file itself.
