Works a treat under Jaws version 7 also.

I had spent hours looking for a way to get this from the environment 
variable without success, and here it is, in 1 easy step, right under my 
nose...

There're a function, possibly undocumented but working well at least
for me, called GetUserName.
If it still is undocumented you have to edit the jsd file and define
it as returning a string. If it is documented then you can uuse it
with no problems.
I don't know what it would return if no user is logged in. It doesn't
seen to take parameters.
Ok a responsible or clever one should know that using undocumented
functions may be dangerous, may be unstable or can fail with no
justifications. Use at your own risk, I would say.
