Subject: [jawsscripts] Working with Java
Hi
This is probably better suited to a programming list but I am hoping someone
will be able to assist.
I have encountered two applications in recent weeks which I understand are
written using Java and Oracle Forms 10. Hese apps have not interacted well
with jaws at all. When moving from field to field, jaws has announced spurious
unnecessary code instead of the field label, the menu bar is not accessible,
etc.
Are their any guidelines I can pass onto the developers of these applications
to allow them to code them correctly so jaws performs at its best with them? I
should say I have tried JAWS V10.0.512 with these apps and also the Java Access
Bridge V2.01.
Is there a method a developer can use to input text specifically for individual
form fields for Java apps? The text label for the field on screen does not
resemble what jaws is saying at all so I take it jaws must be getting the label
tag from somewhere. What I am looking for really is some direction I can give
the developers so they can ensure jaws speaks appropriate text for each field.
Thanks.
