Hi, Gordon, I'm Brian Zolo from Gahanna, Ohio, USA, I'm with the Department of Defense here in Columbus, Ohio, I've been following this tread, I'm using a Brailliant 40 just fine with Jaws 11 once I got the new driver from Freedom Scientific. I spoke with Eric Damery about this issue because I'd been told by humanware technical support that they were recommending that users not upgrade to Jws 11 because Baum wasn't on board with the whole signed driver issue. Freedom Scientific does have a driver for the Brailliant and Braille connect displays, right now it's only for 32-bit operating systems, that's a pain as I've got a Dell laptop with Vista 64-bit on it. If there's interest, I'll be glad to get in touch with Eric Damery to see where things are with Baum on this issue if you folks would like. Baum is the manufacturer for the Brailliant displays, we really need to put pressure on them for change to be made as well. Thanks so much, look forward to hearing from you soon, feel free to e-mail me off list at bzolo1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, if you're on skype, my skype id is brianzo1. Brian C. I'm not sure whether to moan more to FS or HumanWare. In the end it's me the customer who suffers. This weekend though I am going to give WindowEyes a serious go to see how it does perform for me. Trouble is I've invested a lot of time with Jaws in learning how to work the application and to make scripting modifications for my applications and what's more I do like the product. I also love the Brailliant displays. However whenever I report a bug I hear absolutely nothing from FS and that's really poor in my book. Appologies for the rant. I'm a Braille user and the new driver signing policy is indeed concerning me. Papenmeier has signed the deal so my Braille display works great with JAWS 11 64-bit though. I don't like the way FS is going and I wish I had a alternative to JAWS. -----Original Message----- From: jawsscripts-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jawsscripts-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Donald Marang Sent: 21. mai 2010 04:55 To: jawsscripts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jawsscripts] Re: Windows Live Mail and Other JAWS Scripts Updates I think I will give it a few days first to see if my email to support gets escalated. Yes. Competition is the key. I am afraid FS is moving toward litigation rather than inovation. Actually, that is not entirely correct, but it is a great line. I am just concerned over their new braille driver signing stance, even though I am not a braille user.
