Unfortunately, that does not work. I am guessing that JAWS was not trapping
that key then.
Thanks,
Kevin

You should be able to go in to the *.JKM file for that application, and paste
in the following:
Applications=PutTheNameOfYourScriptHere
Control+s to save, and then Alt+w and down arrow to the script file again and
press enter.
Then compile your script files once more to update the keystroke you added in
the the JKM file.
Hope this helps!

Thanks, I just tried this with JAWS 9 at home and it was successful. I was
confused because I tried all of the things you mentioned at work and I was sure
it was not successful. At work, I use JAWS 7. I tried it again with JAWS 7 at
home and it did not work. Is there a way to do this with JAWS 7?
Thanks,
Kevin

When you check the check box to allow a key to be mapped, you should be
able to just press your application key on where it ask for a key stroke, and
it should take it. You can also change in the JKM for jaws key board manager
where it shows for example:
Applications=test
The context menu when you hit your application key is the same menu as if
you click your right mouse button on an item. But not sure if the application
key is acting correctly in the program you are trying to do this in.
Hope this helps!

Subject: [jawsscripts] Mapping Application key to a script
Hello,
I have recently been working with a program where the application key does
not work. I can route the JAWS key to the PC cursor and right click to get the
context menu. I wrote a little script to do this. The problem is that I would
love to map the application key to this script. There is no way to do this
with the keyboard manager, because if you try to use the key, it actually
activates the context menu. I have gone into the file with notepad, but can
not find the right way to refer to the application key. Is this at all
possible?
Thanks,
Kevin
