Martin,
I am Jawter's author, so perhaps not the best qualified, certainly within
rights to answer I think! :D
The methods I used could easily be applied elsewhere, and it's not just me
using them either what with Bryan Garaventa's " How to Fetch Remote Server
Text & Binary Files within JAWS Scripts".
My biggest headache was JAWS lack of complex datatypes - I had to parse all
the XML into a string and work with it from there.
I used the XML DOM object from Microsoft for my xml parsing, and use the
winHttpRequest Com Object to send data back to twitter. I'd imagine that
unless your ticker returns XML this will be the best thing for you to use.
Sean.

Subject: [jawsscripts] Jaws Stock Ticker
hello there,
Recently, I've been playing around with the Jawter scripts; (scripts that
make Twitter work via jaws).
Anyway, I was wondering if the same sort of idea could be applied to a stock
ticker? I'd like to be able to hear an update of my stocks every 5 minutes
without having to physically open a stock quote page and entering in stock
symbols. In other words, I would like this to be done in the background
automatically.
Cheers,
Martin
