This has come up a number of times over the years. As far as I know There is no way to determine that the synthesizer in use is currently speaking, or when it is finished. The SpeechinUse function will return true as long as speech is set to a synthesizer. I'll use a com object, jaws script, separate application which pokes another application's object ... whatever. But is there anyway to figure out when jaws is actually talking? I suppose this question really should be extended to when jaws is instructing the synthesizer to talk, but I'll take it at either the synthesizer or jaws level. Any ideas at all?
