Hello, I'm a JAWS developer and have been working with mainframe applications since 1997. You did not indicate which Windows version you are using on either computer and what is the installed memory and graphics adapter. Some things to look at: 1. Does the computer have problems connecting with the mainframe when JAWS is not loaded? 1a. If it does have problems get that fixed first. 1b. If it works fine, then verify the graphics adapter driver to be the latest for that OS level and that the JAWS Video Intercept has been reinstalled after the graphics drivers are updated. 3. Make sure the you are using the correct version of JAWS for the OS and that you have the latest version installed. 4. If using Windows XP Pro SP2, then you should have at least 2GB or more of memory to support JAWS and XP SP2. 5. In the mainframe application verify that JAWS is reading the text properly, you may need to change the font for best results. I use Lucida in all Attachmate versions. Screen resolution is also important. JAWS has problems above 1152 x 864. Most script functions will carry forward to later versions; however, there is usually some modifications that will be needed above JAWS 6. Hope this help you some, Rich -----Original Message----- From: jawsscripts-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jawsscripts-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Diana Holzhauser Sent: Thursday, August 14, 2008 5:48 AM To: jawsscripts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jawsscripts] Re: FW: jaws version 6 vs 9 and mainframe access I use attachmate extra.
