Hello Diana, I have been using JAWS with Extra for several years and
I'll help if I can.  I just installed Extra v8.1 (InfoConnect and
Accessory Manager included) and I run Extra through Accessory Manager.
I had to change my font to Lucidia console size 10, and do not auto size
window to font size.  BTW, I have my terminal display set to 43x80 (43
rows and 80 colums) and extended attributes are turned off.  You must
also change the cursor to a blinking underline in the display settings.
I just installed extra v8.1 today and I'm still having some problems
getting the emulator to work as smoothly as it worked in older version
of Extra.  I am using my own scripts and you can find other 3270 scripts
if you poke around the web.

I work for the Arkansas department of information systems. I use JAWS to
accesss the IBM OS3090 mainframe. The emulator we use is attachmate
extra 8.0. I continue to have the following problems with my PC.  I
currently am using a PC that has version 6.0 of Jaws.  I also hav an
older version of the Microsoft products while the rest of my coworkers
have been upgraded on these products.  I have been having a problem with
my machine locking up....I  have times when I cannot access the computer
drives and times when Ihave problems accessing the mainframe. 

 

Our It specialist has another PC that she has loaded with version 9.0 of
Jaws.  I have done some work with this PC and it has problems accessing
the Mainframe.  

 

So I have a problem in that my current machine has problems and I can't
go to any upgraded PC because it has problems too.....This is impacting
my ability to do my job. 

 

I am trying to find out If there are other mainframe programmers who can
suggest solutions. Thanks!
