Good morning Matthew,
Without having given this too much thought, I'd suggest you try the
following.
1. Create a new global variable in the FSReader script that acts as a toggle
between 0 and 1.
2. Create a script and assign it to the Control P key combination.
3. In that script, if your variable is set to 0 set it to 1, if it is 1 set
it to 0.
4. Create another new script and assign it the numpad 5 key.
5. If your variable is set to 0 call say by character, if it is set to 1
call play/pause.
