Sorry, I mis read your post. This was to use the Escape key as opposed to 
"press" it. My apologies. I see Dennis has given the response needed.

Hi. It is recommended that you do not use this key. However, if you must go to 
keyboard manager Jaws +8 then go to options. Arrow down to hot keys. Here you 
will find hot keys that you should really think seriously  about using. If you 
must then  arrow down to the escape key and check it. Tab to the ok button. Now 
you will be able to use the escape key in a script.

Again, exercise caution when making scripts attached to these specific hot keys.
