  Using a UK keyboard, I get the following keycode values for backslash and 
vertical bar:

Jaws 7.10:
backslash 86
left shift plus backslash 2097196
right shift plus backslash 1048662

Jaws 8
backslash 86
left shift plus backslash 4194390
right shift plus backslash 2097238
