This is indeed a BX problem, or more accurately, a problem that
surfaces when you use BX on JAWS 11 after the latest security update.
I don't as yet have a solution unfortunately. My first theory was
that the problem occurs because JAWS can't find bx.jcf at the time you
get the message. Deleting bx.jcf did not produce the same problem on
other machines though, so I remain a bit baffled.

This may be specific to Jaws 11 so I'll check on that later.
After installing bx in Jaws 11, I have noticed that when starting my
computer, I get a log error message which provides a lot of information
on various parameters and specifies that it is a getObjectFromEvent
warning.
How do you regulate the appearance of these messages?
With the novell login dialogue that I am referring to, this messaging
occurs for every key press while this dialogue is open. the one
exception to this however occurs when the Password edit field has focus.
I have noticed similar behaviour with this dialogue which in the past
did not involve bx.
does anyone have any suggestions for events or techniques that prevent
the contents of a field to be spoken each time a key is pressed?
