Yes, That's what it says. If it won't overwrite the default it sounds sort of
misleading to me but I'll try it. Thanks. I will probably backup my default.JKM
just in case though. I am kind of chicken when it comes to overwriting
defaults.

Hi Mike,
When you try to add a hotkey to a script in script manager, are you sure the
dialog doesn't say something along the lines of "this assignment will override
such and such an assignment in default.jkm?". This is only a temporary change.
As long as you retain the new, application specific key assignment, that is
the one that will be honoured while your application is running. The
default.jkm key assignment will still be there for use in other applications,
or in that specific application when you delete the script you've written or
change its key assignment.
hth,
Martin

Subject: [jawsscripts] Applications without JKM files
This is probably an elementary question but I am just starting to learn
scripting.
I have an application that I would like to try writing scripts for. It
brings up a script file for the application when I use Script manager,
but when I try to add scripts and attach them to keys it wants to modify
the default jkm. I tried creating a new one but the application isn't on
the list of applications for which I can add a Key map. I don't want to
modify the default.
I used the keyboard manager and created a new map file that matched the
script name. If I am in the application and I bring up Keyboard manager
it accesses the key map, but when I am in script manager it still tries
to modify the default.
I went out and erased all the files associated with the application in
my settings folder so I could start from scratch. Is there a way to get
a key map file when the application isn't on the list and get the script
manager to reference it instead of the default? Did I perhaps do things
in the wrong order?
