Hi, Steve.
Some questions that might bear on your query:
1. Were you using the regular google website or the one they set up for
accessibility? I don't use that accessible version because I find the main
website completely so and that it contains more useful information. But
possibly the accessible version has that problem you describe.
2. Did you or your friend page or scroll down to bring up the results?
I'm pretty sure I've had sighted people look at my screen when it's been
displaying google and I've had JAWS running.
One suggestion. If none of those questions leads to a solution, I find that
it's not enough to turn off JAWS if I want a screen to display correctly.
After unloading JAWS, I press alt-left arrow to go back to the previous
page, then alt-right arrow to return to the problem website. That tends to
make the screen look correct visually.
Keep well. Adrian

I have a sighted friend that uses my computer once in a while. We did a
googgle search and she said the screen just sat there with a bar at the top
displaying the web page but not the results. If I used jaws I could hear the
results. I tried turning the virtual cursor off and even unloading jaws.
what is it.
