[JAWSLite] scanning non-English documents

Hi all,
 
Is anyone experienced with scanning a document which is written in German
for example?  If so, what has been your experience with getting JAWS to read
it correctly after choosing the correct language of course?  I've tried this
in Text Cloner Professional and ABBYY Fine Reader 6 and have also chosen the
correct language in those programs as well.  
 
I wonder if the fact that some of it is Gothic German might be part of the
problem?
