Thanks Lennie. I am sure you are right. I just received an e-mail with 4
pdf attachments. Three of them I was able to open and read with no trouble
but the fourth one kept giving me a message, Empty Document. I printed it
and scanned it and it was full of text.
I think I am going to e-mail Adobe and ask if there is a way to identify the
type of pdf docs and let us know.

Wayne,
I ran into this problem too using version 8 of Adobe Reader.
I think that the PDF document is an image and the only way to read it
is to do what you did. I often print an image document and scan it to
read the text.
Just thought that you might like to know.
