[JAWSLite] Re: jawslite@freelists and jfw@freelists

Hi, something odd with the list here, getting copies of every message rather than a daily digest, what do I need to do to change this please?

Hi
If I remember correctly Jawslite was for less experienced Jaws users,
while JFW was for more experienced ones. Personally I wish there was still

the Idiot proof. A lot of times I don't know enough to ask good questions.

Hi Bruce,
Believe me, my ego will permit me to dump the list in a heartbeat if it is
not useful.

A few reasons. First, many blind people see an inherent need to have a
list for everything: Canadian JAWS users, American JAWS users, JAWS
users with pointy noses, JAWS users who like Strawberry ice cream on
Tuesdays and Thursdays when it's not raining and there's a full moon the
following Wednesday, that sort of thing. Second, the lists are owned by
two different people. Thirdly, the traffic volume is different on both
lists. I peronsally would be happy to see the two lists merge, but it's
not likely to. I'm off to start a list for JAWS users who wish they had
a can of coke in their hands but can't because the Coke machine's
broken.

hi James,
thanks for your history lesson and your quick respond.

ok, one little idea from me, since both jfw@freelists and
jawslite@freelists are discuss about jaws for windows, why not just
combine both list to become a huge jaws for windows list?

just a thought from me.

Hi Alan,
A history lesson is on order here, but first, JAWSLite at FreeLists is
the
list that just moved that will soon be destroyed called JAWSLite, which
is
at blindprogramming.com.

My understanding is that JFW is the original, huge JAWS user list.
JAWSLite
was born because of a need for JAWS users to get quick answers on how to
do
things with JAWS. I inherited that list when I took over
blindprogramming.com. We have recently had enough list trouble on the
servers at blindprogramming.com that I got tired of waiting for things to
get resolved, so I moved the list to FreeLists.

As for the difference between the two lists, I think that now it is
mainly
that there is less traffic on JAWSLite. I think the distinction between
the
lists has blurred. If there is truly no need for the list, then I can
always get rid of it. If it's not useful anymore, why waste everyone's
time, right?
