[JAWSLite] Re: jaws dictionary and sylable emphasis

Ok.

Was actually relatively simple to add an entry in the dictionary for my name.

FWIW, I made sure I was on the first letter of an instance, then hit Ins + D, used Ctrl + Shift + D to load the default dictionary file, tabbed to 'Add', made sure that the word was there, and added the correct pronunciation version, tabbed to 'Ok', hit Ctrl + S and it's now fine.

Stay well

Just irritates me sometimes when both my computer, and mobile phone say my name wrong.

Anyway, will still 'think' about it a bit.

interesting. I know a guy named Kevin Kruger and it pronounces his name the same it does yours. I know how to say the name so I don't worry about how jaws says it ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jacob Kruger" <jacobk@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Don't have an answer for you, but your question just reminded me of something I've been wondering about for a while now.

My surname/last name is Kruger, but the correct pronunciation is in fact
Kroogger, and I've been wondering for a while how to 'fix' this on my machine?

Is it relatively simple, and would it then be something I would then be able to 'copy' across to another machine?

Thanks in advance

Subject: [JAWSLite] jaws dictionary and sylable emphasis

Is there a way to have jaws emphasize a sylable when adding a word to the dictionary?

Say I have a 3 sylable word and I want the emphasis on the second sylable. Can I somehow tell jaws to emphasize the 2nd sylable? Actually, the word I'm dealing with is a name, Sakhatme. It should be said 'sack hot me" with the emphasis on the second sylable. Like 'sack HOT! me".

Just telling jaws to pronounce the word as if it's "sack hot me" helped. But it would be nice to get it right so that I will start saying it right myself. Out of force of habit, I sometimes mispronouce this name when I'm talking to the actual person.
