For my part, I try to provide the answer as well as pointing to where I
found it, such as the FS site, Google or Wikipedia. In this way, I like
to think I'm providing a fishing pole as well as the fish. I don't
always do this because sometimes if I'm in a hurry and I am just going
to have to look it up myself anyway, I'll try to provide the questioner
enough information to run the search themselves. They can run the search
themselves or wait for someone else to give them more inofrmation.
Although, I think this is a legitimate question, and in fact all
questions are legitimate, I am surprised by those questions which seem
like it would take less effort to do a quick search on Google or
Wikipedia then it would to post the question on a list like this. You
also run a greater risk of getting misinformation from posting a
question on a mailing list than you would by going to the web and the
source. That doesn't mean that people are intentionally passing
misinformation, they're just providing what they know, which may no
longer be completely accurate. I don't know how many times I've seen
people state that you can not get a self voicing phone for Sprint or
Verizon that will let you send and receive text messages. This used to
be the case, but LG now has several phones that allow you to send and
receive text messages with the phone's built in voice software.
Oh well, sorry for all of that! I guess I got a little carried away!
