On my laptop, I hit the power key and then I hear the beep for me to
enter my power up password. If you don't have a power up or hard drive
password then you won't get this prompt. this is the same as powering up
your system for the first time.
Next you should hear JFW start talking and end up in your windows log on
screen. On both of my systems I have to log into Windows, but I assume
if you don't have to log onto Windows during a normal power on then you
won't get this screen. In that case, I suspect you'll just end up on
your running system with everything pretty much the way it was when you
went into hibernation. If you end up in your Windows log on screen then
you just log in like you would when you power up your system.
Once you've logged onto Windows, you should end up in your running
system. You won't get the messages about your personal settings being
loaded, you'll just end up in Windows with the same applications running
when you went into hibernation. Note this will take a minute or two, but
it should take a lot less time then a normal power on.
How do you go into hibernation? What system do you have and what keys do
you press to slip into hibernation? Do you hear the messages that your
system is going into hibernation followed by your system powering off by
itself?
