[JAWSLite] focus trouble with jaws?

I'm running jaws 5.1 on this system along with win xp home edition. In notepad 
and wordpad, jaws seems to break up words whether or not wordwrap is turned on, 
and sometimes it takes out an entire lines of text or repeats one line two or 
three times. and if you try to correct it it says blank as you backspace, and 
you seem to be doing fine until you realise its doing the same thing time and 
time again. I'm at a loss, can anyone give me an idea?
In wordpad I have word wrap set to window, not ruler. It still gets annoying 
after a while, though, because you might delete something you needed. I am 
trying to reformat all my documents off the braillenote to computer formats and 
its not too easy to try and do that with jaws.
