you can turn the cursor off
in the configuration manager braille options cursor options.

for the second question I would leave it conected unless you were caring it 
with you.

I recently bought a used Pac Mate. I have gotten the braille display working
with jaws on my PC. But I have 2 questions:

1. Can I turn off the cursor? It displays the cursor location and the dots
go up and down once a second or so. It's a bit annoying and I'd like to turn
it off.

2. Am I going to wear it out? Should I disconnect it when I'm not using it?
