[JAWSLite] Re: accessible text to mp3

Yes that is correct. I've done that quite a bit until i started converting
to real speak instead.

Hi rick!

So SAPI4 voices? Does that mean I can convert the text to the Via voice
speech? The one that sounds like eloquence?
Thanks in advance.

Text Aloud from www.nextup.com is very good for this too and makes mp3's as
well as doing other things with your text files. It uses SAPI 4 and 5
voices but costs $30. I think you can demo it though to make sure you like
it first. It works very well, I use it here. Some of the things you can do

is mark up text to make different voices say different things. It can split

very long text files into smaller ones.

Started using a program called eSpeak, which is relatively simple. It uses
MS Sapi voices, but I've already converted a couple of books into .wav files
using it. That's really the only problem - it only generates .wav files,
but I've already found a free, relatively easy to use program called
'switch' which adds simple, useful items to an audio files context menu to
start the conversion process.

eSpeak is available from:
http://espeak.sourceforge.net/

Cheers

Jacob
