Have you used other screen readers? The problem with using speech is that
you can't always easily determine where things are on the screen based on
what comes out of the synth. You just have to accept that "start button"
is somewhere visible and not assume it is in a particular place. (I had an
old system once that put the start button in the upper left corner--but i
never knew that as I always assumed it was in the lower left. But when you
think about it, why would it matter as long as it worked?
Do you have a tutorial for jaws? That is where I got my introduction. I also
was new to windows when I got jaws more than a decade ago, and it was a bit
of a learning curve, partly because of this layout issue -- -- sightlings
and low vision persons feel so much more comfortable if they have a visual
picture in their mind -- but you do get used to the process.
Good luck.

Subject: [JAWSLite] Screen Layout
Hi,
Can someone explain the use of the Jaws screen layout on the Internet to me
please? I really can't see how it works...I've tried it and don't see much
of a difference.
Thanks,
Jennifer
