[JAWSLite] Re: RSS Reader

I haven't played with IE7 yet, but it sounds like a need to take a look at it. The two RSS readers I use are Yahoo! and Thunderbird.

If you set up a home page at my.yahoo.com, you can add RSS feeds to your home page. A header gets created on your home page and then a link to each article appears in that section. It makes navigating a snap. A lot of web sites used to have a link on them that would automatically add a feed to My Yahoo!

Thunderbird makes working with feeds almost the same as working with email messages. A folder gets created for each feed you subscribe to and then each article appears as a entry in that folder. Like I said, it's just like going through your email. I'd strongly suggest anyone who's already using Thunderbird take a look at it's RSS support. I'm not sure I'd switch to Thunderbird though just for the RSS support.

Like I said, I haven't played with the IE7 RSS support yet, but it sounds like I need to give it a look. I don't know how My Yahoo! or Thunderbird compare to IE7.

A spiffy little standalone program is RSSReader, but that became obsolete with Jaws 8. The answer now is the reader with Internet Explorer 7. The shortcoming with the latter is that there seems to be no way to manually add a feed as it relies on the detection tool in I.E. 7. In other words, if someone sends a feed's URL in an email or mentions it on the web or in print, you can't just paste it in, but must go to a web page and pray for detection of that feed. ----- Original Message ----- From: "E.J. Good afternoon,

I'd like to hear from those of you who use RSS readers about which program / service ou use, how accessible it is with JAWS, and what are your likes and
dislikes.

Thanks,
Everett
