Hmmm. My first guess is that you have enabled sticky keys. 
Pressing the SHIFT key 5 times turns on StickyKeys. StickyKeys lets you use 
the SHIFT, CTRL, ALT, or Windows Logo keys by pressing one key at a time.
This might be why your jaws is saying selected, selected. Its actually
copying the text. I think if you hit the shift key 3 or 4 times really fast
you will bring up a sticky keys window. Go to settings and turn it off.
Just a guess.
