Go into the tools menu and make sure that speech is not checked. Then check
in control panel and make sure that under speech nothing is checked.

Subject: [JAWSLite] Jaws & microphone+spell check problems

  Hi,

  Two questions regarding Jaws.
  1. In some Windows programs like Outlook Express, Word, Excel, etc., Jaws
says sometimes "microphone tool ...". How can I turn the microphone off across
all windows applications?

  2. When I do control+E in Outlook Express, Jaws says, "spell check," and then
there is a long pause and it doesn't read as it usually does. The spell check
however works fine when I use the f7 key. But in Word, when I press f7, there
is a pause and the spell check doesn't work either. What's wrong with my Jaws.

  Best,

  Lauren
